THE BALTICS

Nearly half of the country is covered with forest, contributing to the fact that it is one of the countries with the smallest population density in Europe.

Latvia is a country full of surprises hidden in the pine forests and ancient towns, waiting to be revealed to the world. Visitors will find the fusion of Soviet influence and European life, a mix of Baroque design and Art Nouveau architecture, and the perfect balance of wild nature and the buzz of modern society.  The medieval streets, historic buildings, and the cobbled lanes and squares with street cafes in Old Rīga glow under the summer's shining sun, while in the wintertime, everything is covered with snow, making the perfect scenery for Christmas.

The charms of Lithuania are revealed by her rich history, distinctive national culture, gorgeous natural scenery, and landscapes, as well as exquisite amber pieces of jewelry. The capital city, Vilnius, is the largest medieval town in Europe. This ancient Baroque city was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1994.
