NORTHERN LIGHTS IN NORWAY

This winter itinerary is built to maximize Northern Lights sightings in Norway and Arctic highlights around Tromsø, the gateway to the north. Each day blends exploration, wildlife, and relaxation— from adrenaline-pumping safaris to peaceful fjord views and starlit igloo nights.

Day 1 – ARRIVAL IN TROMSO

Arrival in the city of Bergen, the gateway to the Arctic. Transfer by regular taxi service to the hotel in the city center. Check-in and rest of the afternoon free to visit the city.

Day 4 – DAY AT LEISURE IN TROMSO

Today you will have a relaxing and free day on your own. Enjoy the city of Tromsø, you can visit one of the many museums, for example, Polaria, which is the northernmost aquarium with local sea species, or the Polar Museum, showing the history of when the city was the base for many polar expeditions, like the expeditions of Fridtjof Nansen and Roald Amundsen.

Day 2 – SNOWMOBILE SAFARI & NORTHERN LIGHTS TOUR

Enjoy nature at its very best in the Lyngen Alps, which offers some of the most beautiful scenery in Northern Norway. It is a big wilderness playground where you will follow some approved and well-established trails. You will make several stops for sightseeing, playing in the snow, taking photos, and enjoying the fascinating surroundings of mountains, forests, and fjords. Return to Tromsø in the afternoon. In the evening, you will be able to join our small-group for Aurora hunting in Norway. Our enthusiastic guides will take you in search of the lights.

Day 3 – WHALE SAFARI & AURORA TOUR

Departing from Tromsø at 08:00 in the morning and heading out to the whales’ feeding grounds in time to enjoy the few hours of polar daylight. On the way, you can take in the breathtaking views of frozen landscapes in comfortable, warm lounges with panoramic windows. You’ll find a selection of food and drinks for purchase onboard. While searching for the whales, our passionate guides will share personal stories about interesting sights along the way and give you in-depth information about the Orca and Humpback Whale. Once the whales have been spotted, we switch to our electric and silent engine to minimize disturbance to the whales. Return to Tromsø in the afternoon. During the evening, you will have the opportunity to join a small group for a Northern Lights tour.

Day 5 – HUSKY SAFARI & NIGHT IN GLASS IGLOO

Time to do the check-out at the hotel, in order to check-in for another magical experience. Today you will drive 2 hours away from the city, into the Arctic nature camp. After arriving, you will meet the husky dogs and start preparing for your adventure. The experienced guides will teach you how to ride your sled safely before we head out into the wilderness. You will explore the area and stop for pictures. The sledding lasts around 1 to 1.5 hours. After heading back, the host at the husky kennel awaits you with delicious hot local food, based on Arctic commodities.

Afterward, you make your way to the Glass Igloo, around 30 minutes, so enjoy the scenery. Once there, you can check in and enjoy the unique accommodation. In the evening, get mesmerized by the surroundings and sky. Hopefully, you will see the magical northern lights dance for you.
